Career: Primero de Agosto (Angola, 2003-08)
Since he joined the National Team four years ago at just 22 years of age, Olimpio Cipriano's role has gotten bigger and bigger. He was Angola’s top scorer at the 2005 FIBA African Championship in Algiers, which included 22 points in the final. Cipriano also has experience of winning at club level. With Primero de Agosto he has captured two national titles and two African Club Championships. At last year’s FIBA Africa Championship on home soil, Cipriano was excellent, averaging 12.2 points per contest. The 26-year-old has three-point range, something he showed by hitting five of 14 from behind the arc in that tournament. He was recently elected MVP of the Angolan National League, so expect big things from him during the Olympics.
